Mercedes cellphone spam from Geeknet.ca / Rackspace.com
Despite the high cost of mobile data communications in Canada, some of us get email to our cellphones.
On the one hand, it's convenient. On the other, we get to pay for advertising.
Geeknet.ca in Saint John, New Brunswick, has been helping Tristar Mercedes in the port city to spam my cellphone. It's undoubtely a whole lot cheaper for Tristar than buying ads in the Telegraph Journal or on CTV Maritimes or CBC TV NB. Instead of Tristar Mercedes paying for the ads, the recipients pay for them.
Nice.
Imagine getting junk mail delivered to your house - with an invoice. That you must pay.
The email actually came from a company in the USA called Rackspace.com - more about them soon.
