The headline:
"Meeting customer demands"
The sub-head:
"Telecom as cell phones become more prevalent and landlines obsolete, Bell aliant (sic) is moving in the right direction, experts say"
The story:
"More and more Canadians are relying less and less on traditional landlines in favour of sleek and stylish cell phones and voice-over IP services such as Skype for cheap long distance calls."
Earth to Chelsea, cell phones and cheap long distance calls in the same sentence? In New Brunswick?
If we skip over the 'Bell aliant' typo in the sub-head (Bell Aliant - look it up - spelling error # 1 - but that could be one of the highquality TJ editors) and the 'highquality' typo (error #2 in paragraph #4) and the "hoards (sic) of people' error (# 3 and we've only reached the 5th para)..
Wait a second. Three errors by the top of the fifth paragraph? Isn't that the magic number that gets TJ reporters (like Matt McCann) fired? From the newspaper that axed its editor - Shawna Richer - and sent its publisher - Jamie Irving, a member of the family - into exile for 30 days for an embarrassing breach of ethics that led to an obsequous apology to the Prime Minister just this week?
There are some interesting ideas presented in the article. Really. And Chelsea appears to be persistent in chasing down credible sources. Too bad you must be willing and able to get through the facshual, spilling, grumatikal and strutchural errors to to to get thet fur.
