Shrink and Email Image

Question: How can I quickly shrink an image before emailing it? Answer: Picture files that you scan or transfer from a digital camera can end up being very large - both in terms of the amount of screen space they fill, and the amount of hard drive space they take up. It's generally not a good idea to send large pictures through email as they can often take a long time to download especially if the recipient doesn't have high-speed internet.

Fortunately, Windows XP includes a feature that automatically resizes an image before emailing it. Right-click on an image that you want to send, then click on "Send To", then "Mail Recipient." You will then be asked if you would like Windows to resize your picture for you - make sure that "Make all my pictures smaller" is selected and click on the OK button (you can also click on the words "Show more options" to pick the new size of your image). A new email message will appear, with the resized image attached; you can write a message and send it like any other email.
