Question: How can I save web pages to my computer?
Answer: When you're browsing the internet and you click on a link to an audio or video file, chances are that the file ends up opening and playing in a program such as Windows Media Player or Quicktime. But what if you want to save the file to your computer, so you can view it later? The easiest way is to right-click on the link and then click on "Save Link Document As" (or "Save As," Depending on your browser).
A "Save As" window should appear. From there, you can choose where on your hard drive or desktop you would like to save the file. Click the "Save" button and a file download window should appear; once the download is finished, you should be able to play the file from your hard drive.
Occasionally with this method you may end up saving a web page, instead of a video or audio file, if the content you're trying to save is "streaming-only." These types of media files are often very difficult, if not impossible, to save to your computer.
Added Sept 20, 2011: Another technique that may work is to click on the 'File' option near the top of your web browser window. Then select 'Save Page As' or 'Save Web Page As' (depends on the browser you're using), give the file a name, and choose a place for it on your computer's drive. This method is somewhat unreliable, but it might do the trick if nothing else works.
